Before I Die..

This post is inspired by my fellow blogger CO, who posted an interesting list of things he wants to do before he dies.
My list is endless and increasing, but what I really really want to do is save someone's life before I die (how ironic). How great is that! Someone's dying and I come to rescue them and voila, they are alive again :D
I'm a hero!
Well statistically I'm bound to save at least three lives before I die since I'm going to be a doctor insha'Allah (I made up this statistic but it makes sense doesn't it? :p)

But it doesn't have to be this way. You can donate blood (I read somewhere that every blood donation saves three lives) or an organ (that would be saving a life after you die, unless you're donating a kidney), donate money to the charity associations that help childern and families who die of hunger, cold, and poverty everyday in the underdeveloped and developing countries, also hospitals that give free treatment to the poor. So get involved and take action.

- Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes--one child
every five seconds."

- In 2005, almost 1.4 billion people lived below the international
poverty line, earning less than $1.25 per day.

- In 2006, about 9.7 million children died before they reached their
fifth birthday. Almost all of these deaths occured in developing countries,
4/5 of them in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, the two regions that also
suffer from the highest rates of hunger and malnutrition.

- In 2006, 4.3 million people become infected with HIV and 2.9 million people died of AIDS.

- Every day 16 or 17 people die while waiting for a transplant.

You can always volunteer if you want to be really involved or if you can't pay.

Now back to our main topic, the things I want to do before I die..

Hmm well let's see, I want to skydive and bungee jump, take a year off and see the world, be a street artist in a foreign country, write a book, memorize a huge part of Qura'an, start my own clothing line, fall in love, shake hands with a gorilla :p, work in a restaurant or a coffeeshop, have a baby, go to the outer space, have a star named after me (you hear that my friends? a perfect gift for my 21st birthday :D start making calls! ;p) and the list goes on.. I'd probably come up with a new thing every minute so that's enough for now :)
