I love Jarir.
I know I never stop saying that but I just love it!

It always makes me feel much better, I could spend hours there, flipping through books, reading what's on the back cover, not feeling bored at all, even if I end up buying a book or two.. it just feels great to be there. Argh why don't they let women work there!! I'd apply for a part-time job, full-time in summer of course, in a heart beat!

I was just there with my little sister.. I kept wandering between the bookshelves, picking books and thinking how many books I have back home that I still didn't read, and putting them back. At the end I bought three. After my sister got all whiny and bored and begged me to go home. She made a huge mistake going with me haha.

The thing is, when my fetish for books first started, I used to buy a book at a time, read it, buy another one, read it and so on. A normal book reading cycle. Now I have books scattered everywhere, unread and half-read. And everytime I tell myself to read what I got before buying new ones I find myself running to Jarir to buy a couple of new books.

Here's a list of the book that I still have unread.. the italics are the ones I read just part of them and abandoned them for another one.. To be honest they are much fewer than I thought I had, now that I had them listed down lol.

Marie Antoinette: The Journey, Antonia Fraser
How to Kill Your Husband, Kathy Lette
A Child Called It, Dave Pelzer
At First Sight, Nicholas Sparks
The Fourth Summer of Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants, Ann Brashares
A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini
A Place Called Here, Cecelia Ahern
The Memory Keeper's Daughter, Kim Edwards
To Kill a Mocking Bird - Harper Lee
Marshmallows For Breakfast, Dorothy Koomson
Good Grief, Lolly Winston
Citizen Girl, Emma McLaughlin

I, Hind, vow to read one book at a time, treasure it, cherish it, live through it, and never abandon it for another book. I shall not buy a new book before I read all those listed above, unless I find Breaking Dawn, the fourth Twilight book, well you know how I'm psyched about the series!
I can't think of a more solemn vow.. sorry :\ but you get the idea, right? :p

"How to Kill Your Husband, Kathy Lette"
This one sounds too good to be true :| I'm kidding! Yishi :P

I think I've got the opposite case here, I re-read my books way too much. I go to Jarir weekly, and they don't update the books on a weekly basis.
I don't like to get my books online, because I love the process of getting a new book from stores. So, that's not an option.

Gosh, I should drop by Jarir tomorrow. Been itching to do so for 2 days now =/

A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Memory Keeper's Daughter, and To Kill a Mocking Bird are books I'll vouch for their quality :)

Have fun reading!

You should order your books online. LOL shukran shukran :"D
And you still can't hate Jarir :(

8BitsOfCoffee,
It is too good to be true! LOL I'm sure we'd be thinking of that 20 years through our happy marriage :D! Not literally though... *rolls eyes*
And I can't wait to finish Eclipse, no actually I'm trying to take my time reading it, so I can devour the rest of the books *jumps up and down with excitement*
Thanks :D

I'm the same way with books, I've got dozens of books that I've started and another dozen I have yet to read. Yet everytime I got to Jarir I feel obligated to get more books. And like you, I've also gotten How to kill your husband and A place called here.

Yup Jarir is definitely one of my favorite places :)

How to Kill Your Husband
It's a good book, not that special but it's a fun read

A Child Called It
Don't know why I found it to be overrated. I guess because many told me that it's an amazing book. however, everyone should read it I guess

At First Sight,
Nope I didn't like it lel2saf
Nicholas Sparks still can't match up his A Walk to Remember and The Notebook

The 4th Summer of..
I found the entire series to be boring!

A Thousand Splendid Suns
is such a disappointment especially after one excellent book as The Kite Runner

The Memory Keeper's Daughter
On my list of books to read

To Kill a Mocking Bird
Loved this book

Good Grief
It's a good book and it stays on your mind for a while :)

You see, I used to be a book worm with a one-novel-per-week pattern but unfortunately I haven't been able to read anything non-medical for over a year now and my list of pending books are growing by the minute!

Hind ♥ said...

CO,
Yup. And once you're in...

Bassem,
Why does everyone other than me find the sisterhood series boring? I love them! And I cry at the end of each book *rolls eyes*

I saw The Notebook and A Walk to Remember, didn't read the books, and I wanted to read one of Sparks' works.. hence At First Sight.

Oo you think that's how I'll end up too one or two years from now? :-O

Thanks for the quick review :D

Obviously, you're addicted to books!

You must control it, though. I used to suffer from the exact problem; buying books before finishing the ones I already had. But it's easy, you'll figure it out and get through!

By the way, interesting blog! Must say, love the refreshing color! :)

You're linked! Live with it!
